Profhilo

What Is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable anti-aging treatment made from hyaluronic acid. Once injected the high concentration of hyaluronic acid stimulates the production of collagen, elastin, and proliferate adipocytes (fat) stem cells to improve skin tone, hydration and the reduce the appearance of fine lines. Hyaluronic acid is hydrophilic which means that it draws and retains water in your body, thereby acting as a hydrator rather than a filler. The slow release of hyaluronic acid by Profhilo results in natural bio-remodelling of the skin and improved skin quality lasting for up to six months.

What Are the Benefits of Profhilo?

Profhilo is beneficial in many aspects. It can improve the texture, hydration, and tone of the skin, making it look more youthful as a result. Rather than just “filling in” the wrinkles, Profhilo addressed wrinkles through maximum hydration. By stimulating collagen production, the treatment plumps up your skin which naturally helps to smoothen out wrinkles and fine lines. The skin will be radiant, as the elasticity and firmness are improved.

What Are the Side Effects of Profhilo?

The only reported side effects are bruising and mild swelling at the injection sites. These generally disappear in a short period of time and are associated with the needle, not the product. Individuals who are allergic to Hyaluronic Acid should not consider Profhilo. Similarly, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not recommended to go through this treatment.

FAQs

What does Profhilo treatment involve?

Profhilo is injected just below the skin’s surface over 2 sessions 4 weeks apart. How long will it take to recover after the treatment?

People can go back to their normal activities after the treatment. There may be some small, raised lumps around the treated area, but they will go away in 4-12 hours. Still, people should not go swimming for 24 hours or apply makeup for 12 hours.

What’s the difference between Profhilo and Sunekos?

There are many similarities between Profhilo and Sunekos but, in our experience, Profhilo is best to refresh, firm and smooth skin, giving its’ “glow back” whereas Sunekos is generally better suited for skin with more advanced signs of ageing. More information on the differences between the two can be found in our Blog.
