Men usually ask about Endolift for a softer jawline, jowls or fullness under the chin. It can tighten mild to moderate laxity and reduce small fat pockets through a tiny entry point under local anaesthetic, usually in 1 session. Most men return to work within 48 hours. Results vary, and heavy loose skin may need surgery.

Why men ask about Endolift

Men tend to come to Endolift with a clear, practical concern. The jawline has softened, there is a little fullness under the chin, or the neck looks older in photos and on video calls. Many want a change that looks natural, that colleagues will not immediately spot, and that does not mean weeks away from work. This article answers the questions men ask most often, as plainly as possible. For an overview, see our Endolift for men page.

Will it work on my jawline and neck?

Endolift works best for mild to moderate laxity and small fat pockets. In men, that often means early jowls, a less sharp angle between the chin and neck, and a small amount of fat under the chin. A 1470 nm laser delivered through a very fine fibre under the skin contracts the fibrous septa, which gives some immediate tightening, and can liquefy small fat deposits. It also triggers collagen remodelling, so the skin keeps firming for around 6 months.

It is not the right treatment for everyone. If the neck skin hangs in folds, surgery is usually more effective. If there is a large amount of fat under the chin, liposuction may be a better fit. Endolift is also not a weight loss treatment. The comparison of Endolift and neck liposuction is useful if you are weighing those 2 options.

What about my beard and shaving?

A beard does not stop treatment. The fibre goes in through a tiny entry point, and the laser works beneath the skin. Your doctor may ask you to shave the area, or trim it short, before treatment so the skin can be seen and marked clearly. After treatment, most men are advised to avoid shaving the treated area for a few days while it is tender and swollen, and to use a gentle approach when they start again.

The entry point is tiny and usually heals well, and it is often placed where a beard or the natural shadow of the jaw would hide it anyway. Scarring at entry points is a rare risk rather than an expected effect, but it is worth knowing about.

Some men grow a short beard for a week or 2 afterwards, which also hides any bruising. That is a practical choice rather than a requirement.

How much time off work will I need?

Most people return to work the next day or within 48 hours. That said, expected effects include swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, temporary numbness, and temporary firmness or small lumps where fat was treated. Most settle within days, but numbness and firmness can take 1 to 2 weeks or longer. A compression strap is usually worn on the neck for 3 to 4 days.

  • Desk or remote work: many men are back the next day.
  • Client facing roles: some prefer a couple of days, in case of visible bruising.
  • Physical jobs and heavy training: usually best to ease back in over the first week or so, on your doctor's advice.

Is it painful?

Treatment is done under local anaesthetic. Most men describe pressure and some warmth rather than sharp pain, with the anaesthetic injections themselves being the most uncomfortable part. Afterwards the area is usually tender and tight for a few days. Our article on whether Endolift hurts goes into more detail.

What does it cost, and what is included?

Area treated at TK MedispaPrice
Single face area, such as jowls, neck or under chin£1,500
Lower face: lower cheeks, jowls, chin and neck£2,000
Full face: cheeks, malar bags, jowls, chin and neck£2,500

Each price includes the photo assessment, video consultation, treatment, local anaesthetic, aftercare and review. In London more widely, genuine Endolift ranges from roughly £1,450 to £4,900 depending on the clinic and areas. Surgical facelifts in London usually cost £7,000 or more. Very cheap "Endolaser" offers from about £700 to £1,000 often use unbranded copy devices, so it is worth checking what is being used. The cost page sets this out in full.

Will it look natural, and how long will it last?

When it is done for the right reasons, the change is usually a cleaner jawline and a tighter area under the chin, rather than a different face. Results build over 3 to 6 months and can last up to 2 years. Age, skin quality, weight stability, sun and smoking all play a part. Results vary between people.

Rarer risks include burns, skin irregularity, infection, scarring at entry points and temporary nerve weakness, for example of the marginal mandibular nerve, which can affect the smile for a while. These are uncommon, but a good doctor will explain them before you decide.

Dr Seth's view "Men often want to know exactly what will happen and how quickly they can get back to normal. I tell them straight. If the laxity is mild to moderate, Endolift can sharpen the jawline in a way that looks like you on a good day. If the skin really hangs, I will say surgery is the better option. I would rather lose a booking than have someone disappointed."

Questions people also ask

Will people at work notice I have had something done?

Some swelling or bruising may be visible for a few days, so some men time treatment before a weekend. Once that settles, the change tends to be gradual over months, so most people notice you look sharper rather than treated.

Can I go to the gym after Endolift?

Light activity is usually fine soon after, but most doctors advise avoiding heavy lifting, intense training and hot environments such as saunas for the first week or so. Follow the specific aftercare advice you are given.

Is Endolift different for men than for women?

The technique is the same. Men often have thicker skin and denser tissue in the lower face and neck, and their concerns usually centre on the jawline and under chin. The doctor plans treatment around your anatomy rather than your gender.

Does Endolift help a double chin caused by weight?

It can reduce small fat pockets and tighten the skin, but it is not a weight loss treatment. If the fullness is mainly from a larger amount of fat, weight loss or liposuction may suit you better. A photo assessment helps clarify this.
